It’s weekend and what better treat after a hard week than a lovely homemade pizza? I’ve been preparing pizzas as home since my Uni years when the smell of freshly baked pizza would invite even the shyest dorm colleague to ask for a slice 🙂 Try it out!
Homemade pizza
Servings: 1 pizza (for 2 persons)
Calories: 700kcal
Ingredients
Pizza dough
- 175 g all-purpose-flour
- 1.5 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp dry yeast
- 115 ml warm water
Pizza topping
- 60 g mozzarella
- 100 g cured pork ham
- 40 g prosciutto crudo
- 50 g green olives pitted
- 4 pc portobello mushrooms
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce with a dash of dry oregano
Instructions
- First, we need to prepare the pizza dough and for this we have two options: we either use a bread machine fitted with a dough program or we prepare it manually. To be honest, I used the first option.
- But if you go for manual preparation, here's what you need to do: first combine the yeast, the sugar and the water in a small bowl and leave to rest for 15 minutes.
- In a larger bowl, add the flour, the oil, the salt and the yeast composition and mix it up until you obtain an elastic dough.
- Leave to rest for at least 40 minutes in the bowl with a kitchen towel over the top. If you can place it in a warm place, that's even better.
- While the dough rests, you can slice up all the topping ingredients and put them at reach.
- After the dough is done, sprinkle some flour on the kitchen counter and place the dough on it. Flatten it out in a round shape.
- After the dough was flattened and now looks more like a pancake, take it into your hands and stretch it out by walking your hands over the edges and leaving the weight of the dough to pull it downward. Repeat this movement until the dough is the right size for your pizza tray.
- Place your pizza dough in the baking tray. Add the tomato sauce and the sliced toppings.
- Bake the pizza for 20 minutes at 180C.
- Leave to rest for 5 minutes and enjoy!
