Grilled beef with greens

Green is the color today with this lovely beef grilled steak. It happens sometimes that I feel like eating something very light for lunch. This is very helpful when you know that at dinner you are invited somewhere where you don’t have this flexibility of ordering/eating light meals (like a pizza party).

Ingredients

  • 150 g beef sirloin cut in 2 pieces
  • 150 g frozen green beans
  • 150 g cherry tomatoes
  • 1 handful fresh rucola
  • juice from half a lemon
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Season with salt and pepper the beef cuts and set aside for 3 minutes.
  • In the meantime you can prepare your steamer (if you have one) or your pot for steaming the green beans.
  • Put the frozen beans in the steamer/pot and steam for 10 minutes.
  • Heat up a grill pan and grill the beef for 1 minute on each side.
  • Take out the beef on a plate and set aside for 6 minutes (I learned that by doing this, you will grant the meet to keep on cooking in its own juice, so don’t cut the meat just yet).
  • Prepare a salad from rucola leaves, the cherry tomatoes cut in quarters, the squeezed lemon juice and salt to taste.
  • Serve the grilled beef with the steamed green beans and rucola salad.
